Brainykid UK
BRAINYKID EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION (BKF UK) is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation registered by the Charity Commission for England and Wales (No. 1195409). The BKF UK although affiliated with the Nigerian parent charity in their objectives, operates from the UK.
The BKF UK operates for the benefit of the public. The charity is committed to the relief of poverty and distress amongst children in England & Wales, and other parts of the world. We provide resources and support to less privileged children and assist them access quality education and training.
We registered the UK Charity on 05 August 2021 with broadly the same objectives as the Nigerian parent Charity; and independently governed by the UK Board of Trustees namely Mr Omotolani Mobolaji Dawodu and Dr Mrs Olufunke Arinola Williams. Both are supported by a Charity Executive, Mrs Tolulope Adewole.
In the UK, disadvantaged pupils have experienced significant learning loss since 2019, with the gap between the lowest‑performing and highest‑performing local areas continuing to widen. Additionally, 25.7% of pupils are now eligible for free school meals, highlighting the substantial and ongoing need for targeted support in children’s education. BKF UK is committed to helping address these challenges. Our focus spans several key areas of educational support for children across the UK, and we warmly welcome individuals and organisations to partner with us as we work to make a meaningful difference.
Closing the Disadvantage & Attainment Gap in children education – Providing summer classes, tutoring, mentoring, and homework support to help reduce the significant educational inequalities that have widened since the pandemic, particularly for disadvantaged pupils who continue to fall behind.
Strengthening SEND Support – Delivering early‑intervention programmes, parental support, and advocacy services, with a particular focus on pupils who are new to the UK, including asylum‑seekers’ and non-English speaking families who often face additional barriers to learning.
Tackling Child Poverty & Basic Needs – Offering breakfast and after‑school clubs, family engagement and wellbeing programmes, and providing essential items to schools and youth communities (including teen churches) to help alleviate the impact of poverty on children’s education.
In Nigeria the need is profound, basic essentials such as food and shelter are needed to enable us to provide a launch pad for children towards the most empowering tool that we can provide them with to a brighter future, ‘Education’. We want to help children throughout other parts of Africa in the same way in the future if funds allow.
